Our representative will pick from your hotel in Kampala early as 7:00 a.m. to start your journey to Jinja. Our first stop is the Sezibwa falls. Sezibwa Falls is a 45 minutes drive from Kampala and is located on Jinja Road after Mukono town. The falls are about seven meters high and with the sweet hissing sound created by the falling water forms beautiful scenery. This is complemented by the natural vegetation cover and the undulating and steep rocks over which the waters fall. The site has several bird species which present a wonderful opportunity for bird watching. It is a wonderful place for a nature walk, birding, picnics, a limited hike to the top of the falls.
We will depart Mukono and continue to the Mabira forest for 2 hours where we have a forest walk .
The Mabira Forest is a rainforest area covering about 300 square kilometers (120 sq mi) in Uganda, located in Buikwe District, between Lugazi and Jinja. Mabira forest is home to over 300 birds species, and many Ugandan primates. The forest is great, it is still natural and the nature walk is just amazing, you will walk for over an hour under tree canopies without seeing the sky, there are very many primates that you will see on the way, beautiful forest birds and great temperatures.
After the nature walk in the Mabira forest we proceed to Jinja town for lunch and prepare for the afternoon drive to the Ripon Falls which was formerly called the source of the Nile, and continue to the real source of the Nile and see where the Nile begins from. If you are a bird lover, this is a must place for you, return later at 4:30 p.m. and drive through the Jinja Main street, and drive back to Kampala.
