Program for the 10 Days Rwanda Uganda Trip
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Nyungwe Forest
The guide will brief and share with you about the trip and after breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park with en-route visit to Nyanza king’s palace, Butare national museum lots of stopovers on the way for panorama sceneries.

Day 2: Colobus Monkey and Canopy walk
After warm breakfast, take on colobus monkey trekking in the Nyungwe Forest. Expect to encounter other primates such as chimpanzees, lots of monkey species, baboons. Forest birds, and butterflies. Have a canopy walk in the afternoon and return in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Volcanoes National Park
Enjoy a scenic drive after breakfast, to the Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri, a home to the Mountain Gorillas. An evening community walk will introduce to the people living around the mountain that is home to the gorillas and how they are protecting them sustainably.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking experience
Have a morning breakfast and head to the starting point at 7:00am, assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing along with your trekking gear, drinking water and packed lunch head to the forest to track the gorillas, an activity that will take you between 1-8 hours depending on the movement of the apes in their natural wild.
After meeting and staying in the presence of the gorillas for a maximum of an hour, return to your lodge for relaxation. In the evening, take on a cultural walk to Ib’iwachu Cultural Village.

Day 5: Golden Monkey tracking / Dian Fossey hike
Drive to the park headquarters for briefing, and hike up to Karisoke research centre, established by Dian Fossey, an American primatologist who dedicated all her life conserving the lives of mountain gorillas until she was killed and buried next to Digit, a silverback gorilla she loved most. You will learn more about the lives of the mountain gorillas at the research centre.
After the activity, drive to Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable national park, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Day 6: Bwindi gorilla tracking Experience
Have a warm morning before driving to the briefing point for allocation of the gorilla group and park rangers who will guide you about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Proceed for the memorable adventure in the forest, an activity that may take 1-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the wilderness. Meet and stay with the mountain gorillas for a maximum of an hour. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the evening, you may go for community walk in the nearby Batwa community, where you will be entertained and told the tales of their unique culture and how they lived in the mountain with the gorillas.

Day 7: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park through Ishasha sector in search for tree climbing lions thereafter, drive to the northern sector of park and take on an evening game viewing and expect to see Hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants and a lots of birds. It is a scenic experience through the rolling hills.

Day 8: Game drive and Transfer to Kibale National Park
Rise up to an early morning game drive anticipating to see early risers before they return to their hide-outs including lions, hyenas and leopards. In the afternoon, after a boat trip on the Kizinga channel drive to Kibale Forest national park, home to 13 primate species. Experience the drive along the foot hills of the Rwenzori Mountain.

Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon nature walk
After an early morning breakfast transfer to the briefing point for briefing by the park ranger thereafter, the guide will drop you at the starting point of the chimpanzee trail track with the ranger through the forest looking for the chimpanzee and other different primate species and birds. After lunch, enjoy a nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Alternatively visit the “Amabeere ganyina mwiru,” a cultural rock shaped like a woman’s breasts.

Day 10: Transfer to Kampala and departure
After a morning breakfast, drive to Kampala for your afternoon or evening flight. A day use room or overnight stay can be arranged depending on your flight time and preferences.
