5 Days Kidepo Valley Wildlife Safari

Kidepo Valley National Park – The 1442 Square Kilometers conservation area is located in the Karamoja region of the north eastern Uganda and borders Southern Sudan in the north and Kenya in the east. Enjoy the isolated wilderness in this 5 days Kidepo valley wildlife safari. It is dominated by the 2750m Mount Morungole and transected by the Kidepo and Narus rivers. Apart from holding a diversity of wildlife, this is the only park in Uganda where you can see both Zebras and Giraffes in the same conservation area and also the only one that still has Cheetahs.

The name “Kidepo” was derived from the word “Kidepo” which in English means “pick”, so the local communities used to go and pick the fruits of the Borassusaethiopum (palm tree) during food crisis due to unpredicted drought. The Park therefore took its name from that activity and was then modernized by adding the letter “O” to become “Kidepo”. On top of this, you will love the culture and beautiful scenery as you traverse through the country side!

Excellent, remote park in the very north of Uganda. I spent 4 nights there and maybe saw 5 other vehicles. LOTS of buffalo and was fortunate to see 2 cheetah kill a Hartebeest calf right in front of me. Beautiful park.
